The brainchild behind DIY Box is Jackie Ziegler, founder of IN MY SOAP POT, a popular soap making blog based in New Zealand.
Jackie has over 30 years experience in making soap and skin care products, and has been teaching classes for the past 15 years, mostly in Auckland.
After the success of her DIY Soap Boxes, a subscription box for cold process soap makers, she quickly realised that the number one thing holding people back from making their own products is preparation: sourcing the ingredients, planning and getting everything ready.
This is where the DIY Boxes come in.
We do all the planning, buying and preparing and you get to do the fun part: making and enjoying your product!
We have a responsibility to our environment.
Here at DIY Box, we are committed to environmental sustainability and responsibility. All our packaging is either biodegradable, recyclable or re-usable. And we are happy to help with tips on reducing waste and re-using material.
We aim to buy local whenever possible and use only high quality cosmetic ingredients, sourced from suppliers who meet our strict standards of quality and sustainability.
Although we wish we could be completely palm oil free, some of our cosmetic ingredients contain RSPO certified sustainable palm oil, which has been produced from seeds grown by a collective of smallholders in East Africa.
Our organic ingredients come from suppliers with Bio-Gro certification.
All the fragrances we use are 100% phthalate free and have been tested and certified to be safe to use on skin. The suppliers we use are in compliance with the most recent standards published by the INTERNATIONAL FRAGRANCE ASSOCIATION (IFRA).
